Merry Christmas!

Hey guys! Today is a short post as I just want to wish you all a very merry Christmas this year. I know this year hasn’t been what any of us hoped for at all and I think many of our Christmases will have reflected that in some ways. I went from thinking I would get to spend the 23rd to the 27th of December with my extended family to being told only last Saturday that we could only be with them on the 25th. Since it’s too far to go across just for the day, I spent Christmas with just my immediate family which has been lovely as always. My heart goes out to everyone who is separated from their family this Christmas or missing people they would normally spend Christmas with.

But I think this year having a scaled back Christmas gives us the opportunity to think about why we celebrate it in the first place. Why does Christmas matter? It’s a Christian festival that marks the birth of Jesus Christ who God sent to be the Saviour of the world. Beneath all our traditions and customs, that is what the true meaning of Christmas is. Without that event, Christmas would not exist!

To conclude, I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas whatever you are doing and whomever you are spending it with. Christmas is such a special time of year so let’s enjoy it and not let covid ruin it for us all!

  1. Merry Christmas Amelia! I have definitely loved the opportunity to have scaled-back Christmas and realise what I love about the big day and what I do not love so much, I know that our Christmas next year will be very different after this year’s Christmas. I, for one, am definitely happier with smaller family Christmas so will be seeing less of the extended family and more of my parents & siblings. xx

  2. I am so pleased you had a lovely Christmas day, it has certainly been a strange one this year!! It has really made me appreciate the people around me and reinforced the fact I should never take the small things for granted! Loving the pictures 🙂 xxx
