Coronavirus diaries: Harriet!

Hey guys! I’m bringing you the 10th part of this series which has been written by Harriet (*pseudonym used*) who lives in Derbyshire in the U.K. Here are her thoughts on the coronavirus pandemic.

Well …….. at Christmas who would have thought the whole world would be in such a mess! The coronavirus has spread so quickly and caused so much harm to people’s health and well being. The whole world has changed and who knows when there will be some normality again. There is bound to be a ‘new normal’ and life will never really be the same again.

I couldn’t believe the amount of panic buying and all the empty supermarket shelves. Then when the lockdown started supermarkets had run out of so many essential items.

I felt so sorry for all the children having to cope with their schools closing and not being able to see their friends and wider family members. Life has changed in so many ways, and it has been hard for people to cope with being isolated from others and having to stay at home. It is important to have some routine and not waste away the time. There are so many jobs around the house and garden which have needed doing so …….now is the ideal time.

I have tried to find something positive each day. Sometimes it has been hard but the signs of spring, new life and the birds singing so sweetly makes you realise that there is some normality in the environment. It is lovely to be able to use technology to keep in touch and see the family in these very strange times. Communities are really working together to offer help and support to each other.

We must all remember to keep washing our hands, keep our social distancing, keep safe and remain positive.

We are all in this together and want to come out safely at the other end!

Thank you for reading this post! There’ll be another one out soon but until then bye for now!
