Hey guys! Today’s post is going to be another cafe review since I haven’t released one in a hot minute. Recently, I enjoyed a lovely lunch at ‘Vanessa’s’ cafe in Beverley so I thought I’d write a post, sharing my experience of it. ‘Vanessa’s’ cafe has a range of delicious cakes, tempting lunch options and lovely drinks and I’m lucky enough to have visited there several times. I have a special place in my heart for independent cafes because they have a uniqueness about them that chain cafes just can’t replicate. ‘Vanessa’s’ is just the same as it’s very different from other cafes I’ve visited in the past but it has a cosy, homely vibe to it which is really great. So in this post, I’m going to describe some of the yummy food I’ve sampled from ‘Vanessa’s’ and my overall experience of it.
In Vanessa’s, there are many wooden tables scattered around with black chairs at them. There are several decorative pieces which contribute to the cosiness of it’s interior, such as the blanket that’s draped across the window sill. I also quite like the higher table with stools that you can sit at because it adds some variety in terms of seating. I think another factor that contributes to the cosiness of it is the fact all the tables are packed quite close together so they can maximise the amount of people who can eat in the cafe. Overall, it’s such a cute, cosy interior.
From my various different visits, I’ve tried the millionaire shortbread, the macarons, the hot chocolate, the fruit smoothie and the prawn sandwich. I had the prawn sandwich on my latest visit to Vanessa’s and it was packed full of delicious prawns that were coated in thousand island sauce. It tasted amazing and it was accompanied with some salad and coleslaw on the side which was a nice touch. I’ve always wanted to try some macarons so I got super excited on my first visit to Vanessa’s when they were selling them. I chose to have a lemon flavoured one and pistachio flavoured one and the flavours of each were very strong and well distinguished. The outer layer crumbled away and melted in my mouth along with the creamy filling so it was definitely a good first experience of macarons. The millionaire shortbread from Vanessa’s is literally to die for! The crumbly sweet biscuit base, the thick caramel filling and the delicious chocolate on top combines to create this incredible food. I would even go as far to say that it’s some of the best millionaire shortbread I’ve ever had. The fruit smoothie had an excellent taste and it was super refreshing when I drank it in the summer. The hot chocolate from there is quite sweet but not sickly and it tastes especially amazing when it’s accompanied by some cream and marshmallows. I think overall all the food and drinks I’ve tried from Vanessa’s have been really delicious!
To conclude, Vanessa’s is a super cute and cosy cafe with great food and drink. I’ve really enjoyed all my visits there and I’d definitely recommend it!
Thank you for reading this post! There’ll be another one out soon but until then bye for now!
