The Old Post Office cafe review!

Hey guys! So a couple of weeks ago, me and my family enjoyed a lovely lunch out together. It was at The Old Post Office Cafe in Mappleton, a seaside village near where we live. We had been a couple of times before to eat a cake from there but I had never tried their lunches before. So we had a lovely lunch there and I decided to write a review on it. So in today’s post, I will review The Old Post Office Cafe and grant you with my honest opinion of it.

The exterior portrays it to be a quaint, country cottage with delightful character. Inside, it’s pretty cosy with limited seating because of its size. However, in the summer, there is more seating outside which you would be able to use. The wooden tables are decorated with bright, patterned table cloths and funky table mats. Each chair has a comfy seat pad to sit on and the walls are decorated with fun decor. There is a friendly ambience radiating through the air and you feel at home in this cosy cafe.

There was a wide selection of sandwiches to choose from as well as soups, jacket potatoes and other lunch time options. I selected a tuna sandwich which was accompanied by some salad, a handful of crisps and a helping of chutney. The sandwich was deliciously made with soft white bread encased around a plethora of yummy tuna mayo. After that, I shared a piece of scrumptious chocolate cake and a piece of gorgeous toffee cake with my mum. You were spoilt for choice in terms of cakes as well and there were lots of delicious options. The chocolate cake was really rich and delicate with sweet, dark icing piped on top and creamy light icing sandwiched in the middle. In comparison, the toffee cake was sweet and thicker in consistency with velvety toffee icing piped in between the cake and on top of it. Little toffee pieces were scattered throughout the cake and sprinkled on top as a finishing touch. Cake is my one true love and finding such good cake like these ones is such a hard thing to do.Overall, I loved the food at The Old Post Office Cafe and I can’t wait to have lunch there again.

Thanks for reading this review? Where is your favourite place to go for lunch? Let me know in the comments! There’ll be another post out soon but until then bye for now!

  3. Cake is my true love too, girl (loved that line). Though I cannot do saccharine cakes, I like the sound of the toffee cake. The cafe is quaint and lovely. Makes me want to swish across the Atlantic and step in for a cuppa. xx
