‘Poma’ cafe first impressions!!

Hey guys! So this week’s post is going to be about my first impressions of ‘Poma’ cafe in Beverley. As a treat, me and my mum visited there after my appointment at the orthodontist (don’t ever get braces guys they hurt so much!) We really enjoyed the food and drink there so I thought I’d write a first impressions post about it for you all since it was my first time there. Plus it’s been a hot minute since I reviewed any cafes or restaurants on my blog. So here are my first impressions of the cafe ‘Poma’!

As soon as we walked in, we heard a plethora of cheery conversations and I observed that there were lots of different people enjoying food and drink in there. There were lots of different wooden tables to sit at and we found a table in the corner.

After that, we decided to order some food and drink and I choose the lemon cannoli and the Italian almond biscuit with a decaf latte and my mum selected the cherry and coconut biscuit with a tea. There was a wide variety of cakes to choose from and there were also some pizzas and bread and a myriad of different flavours of gelato. The prices were really reasonable as our overall bill only came to about £7 overall!

Biting into the crispy outer shell of my cannoli, the sweet, strong taste of lemon instantly hit me. It was amazingly delicious and my insatiable desire for more of it couldn’t be satisfied with just one of them. After devouring all of my cannoli, I moved onto my Italian almond biscuit and this too had a crunchy outer layer and a gooey almond centre. This one had a distinct nutty taste but it wasn’t so overpowering as the lemon flavour was and it was more clandestine. I really enjoyed both of my cakes though and then, I began to drink my latte after I’d allowed it to cool down a bit. The foamy white layer on top concealed the coffee and milk underneath. It was definitely one of the best lattes I’ve ever had, ranking up there with the ones from Pret a manger and Costa.

Overall, I really enjoyed my little trip to Poma! There was great food and drink there and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I loved the cosy set up as well. I can’t wait to return again!

Thank you for reading this post! What’s your favourite cafe? Let me know in the comments section! There’ll be another post out soon but until then bye for now!

  1. £7 for your entire bill definitely sounds too good to be true! That would be the price of a coffee and a pastry in London. I love the pink door and the whiteboard behind the counter. xx
